Cockfield War Memorials

There are 4 memorials:

  1. Cockfield Council School Roll of Honour : It contains a total of 49 names, 7 staff and 42 old boys, of whom 9 men, 1 staff member and 8 pupils died.
  2. The Cockfield Methodist Church Memorial Plaque: It commemorates 10 men.
  3. St. Mary’s Church: screen to commemorate Second Lieutenant H.W. Summerson.
  4. Cockfield War Memorial:  located to the south of the village green on the main road leading through the village, it commemorates 45 men. They are:

Harvey G. (George) has been identified as a resident but to date his military service record and Commonwealth War Grave Commission details have not been traced.
