John Davis Capstick 1892-19??

300351 [formerly 2608] Private J.D. Capstick, 1/8 DLI was born in 1892 at Kendal, Westmorland to James and Matilda, father was a tailor.  1911: he attended the Student Training College while living at home in Kendal.  1912: temporary certified assistant schoolmaster at Cockfield.  1914: joined 1/8 DLI and entered France 20 April 1915.  He was awarded 1914-15 Star, British War and Victory medals.  1918: left Cockfield and in 1921 married Mary Fairless at Sedgefield.
