Albert CANT 1896-1947

2315011 Lance Corporal Albert Cant, Corps of Military Police died 27 January 1947 aged 51 and is buried in Doncaster [Rose Hill] Cemetery.[1]

Family Details

Albert Cant was born about 1896, the son of John and Clara Cant.  There were children – Albert born at Jarrow, Sarah born at Boldon Colliery,[2] Robert and John both born at Leasingthorne.  In 1911, 41 years old John Cant was employed as a police constable and the family lived at Grange Cottage, Black Boy near Coundon, Bishop Auckland.  At this time, 15 years old Albert worked as a coal miner [driver].[3]  In 1928, Albert Cant married Grace Heseltine at Doncaster.[4] In 1939, Grace Heseltine lived at 13 Stones End, Evenwood with her mother, Lucy Heseltine and her son William H. Cant born 19 August 1928.
