Copley Literary Institute: Memorial Plaque (outside)
The Institute, opened 3 December 1898 by Lord Barnard, lies in the centre of the village to the south of the main road running through it. The memorial is located on the Institute gable wall. It is grey mottled marble with a stone surround and commemorates 8 men. They are:

- G.A. Dixon
- C.H. Waters
- E. Lowe
- B. Sowerby
- T. Rose
