John Richard Hodgson

John Richard Hodgson was born in 1893 at Staindrop to John James and Charlotte Elizabeth, 1901 the family lived at Beckside, Staindrop.  He attended Cockfield C. of E. School then County School.  The family address was given as Burnt Houses. By 1911 they lived at 12 Victoria Terrace.  He worked as a datal coal miner [paid day to day, usually employed at bank].

J.R. Hodgson married Ruby Olive Hammond in June 1918. He died March 1980 aged 86.
