Norman Victor Wall was born 10 October 1897 in the Lynesack & Softley Parish to Thomas Henry and Mary Wall.  In 1901 they family lived at Witton le Wear and in 1911 they lived at Alpine Terrace, Cockfield.   Henry worked as a coal miner.   Norman attended Cockfield C. of E. School then the County School.  He married Sarah H. Walton in 1926. Norman Wall died in September 1950 aged 53.
