Frank Robson was born 13 March 1899 at Cockfield to Thomas and Mary Robson. He was baptised 31 May 1899. He attended Cockfield C. of E. School then the County School.  The family lived at Burnt Houses. He worked as a miner and lived at 3 Raby Moor, Burnt Houses

12 June 1918, he enlisted into the DLI service no.96194.  He entered France 23 October 1918 and was posted to 20/DLI.  He returned to the UK 30 December 1918 and was demobilized 20 January 1919.  He was awarded the Victory and British War Medals.
