Ambrose Miller Lockey 1889-1916 [1]

18/319 Private Ambrose Miller Lockey, 18th Battalion, the Durham Light Infantry died of wounds5 August 1916 and is buried at St. Andrew’s New Cemetery, Bishop Auckland, County Durham.  He was 26 years old, born at Bishop Auckland and was the 9th child of James and Mary Lockey, a draper with a shop at 112 Newgate Street, Bishop Auckland, living at Victoria Crescent, Bishop Auckland.  He died in the VAD Hospital, Jeffrey Hall, Sunderland.  He taught at Cockfield between 1909 and 1911 when he left due to illness [epilepsy].
