Thomas PYBUS 1928 – 1946

4000474 Aircraftman 2nd Class Thomas Pybus, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve died 7 December 1946, aged 19.  He is buried in West Auckland Cemetery [1] and is commemorated on West Auckland War Memorial.

Family Details

Thomas Pybus was born 5 March 1928 [2], the son of Thomas and Mary Ann Pybus.  In 1939, the family lived at Bildershaw, West Auckland.  Thomas senior worked as a drayman but was unemployed at the time, Mary was recorded “unpaid domestic duties” and there were sons Harry, John, Thomas Raymond and 3 others at home [records officially closed].

Aircraftman 2nd Class Thomas Pybus is buried at grave reference E.I.45 West Auckland Cemetery and is commemorated on West Auckland War Memorial. His headstone bears the following epitaph:
