David Roberts was born c.1916, the son of Benjamin and Mary Annie Roberts.
In 1937 David Roberts married Alice Kirby. In 1939, Alice Roberts lived at 13 Model Terrace, Cockfield with her mother Elizabeth and sister Freda. Alice was recorded as an evacuee. Benjamin and Mary Roberts lived at the Bank, Barnard Castle. David is not recorded at either address.
David Roberts service record has not been researched.
The 10th Battalion, Worcestershire Regiment was assigned to the 183rd Infantry Brigade, alongside the 7th Battalion, Gloucestershire Regiment and 4th Battalion, Northamptonshire Regiment, and came under the orders of the 61st Infantry Division. It remained in the United Kingdom throughout the war.
It is highly likely that David Roberts died of sickness or accident while serving in the Army.
